Why do I need a registered agent?
Appointing a registered agent is a requirement to forming an entity such as a corporation or limited liability. This must also be done when an existing entity registers to transact business in a state different than the state where it was formed. State laws mandate that there be a person at a designated place within the state to receive service of process of a lawsuit, notices from the state for the annual renewal of the entity’s charter and other notices or demands permitted by law to be served upon the entity.
